Photos from Dubrovnik, Croatia June-July 2018

I may not have ever managed to take the perfect photo of this incredible spot, but I’ll certainly never forget the experience of hearing the entire city roar when Croatia scored goals in their World Cup match while I visited.

Photos from Istria Region, Croatia June 2018

My introduction to Croatia involved an incredibly long bus trip from Ljubljana that passed through Trieste (a city I absolutely hope to visit based on my quick drive through). As a whole, Istria felt much different than the rest of Croatia, with fewer tourists and just an incredible number of roadside stands selling everything from...

Photos Plitvice National Park, Croatia–June 2018

Most of the day I spent at Plitvice was overcast and I was certainly under a time crunch because of a somewhat inefficient tour operation, but I’d definitely recommend Plitvice, despite the crowds. Photos from Zadar, Croatia June 2018

Alfred Hitchcock is reported to have claimed that Zadar, Croatia had the most beautiful sunsets in the world. No word on what he said about the pizza with truffles, but I feel certain he would have been as complimentary about it as well.

Vacation on Vacation in Croatia

There’s probably no more obnoxious a phrase than “I need a vacation from my vacation,” but there are moments when I understand the sentiment. When I travel, I am usually close to consumed with the thought that I will likely not see a place again and sometimes find myself rushing to see as many things and have as many experiences as I can...

Chasing the Perfect Photo in Dubrovnik

I am certainly not a photographer, but tonight I was going to take an absolutely perfect photograph. As anyone who follows this blog or my Instagram feed can attest, I enjoy taking photographs when I travel, perhaps not so much to capture memories of the experiences but to potentially see them in a unique way and share them with people...

Not All Who Wander Are Lost: Split Edition

My initial reaction to Split was a bit cold. I drove into the city near the morning rush hour, found my way to an apartment that was not only entirely different from the one I thought I had booked online but was absolutely filthy, and I managed to time my arrival into the city’s famed palace at a moment that seemed to synchronize almost...
