I am very new to the world of traveling outside my corner of the northwest United States here in Montana but have found the experience of the past few years to be both invigorating and inspiring.

“What is that feeling when you’re driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? – it’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.”  ― Jack Kerouac, On the Road

Five years ago, I never would have imagined that I would ever travel outside the United States, but now I find myself looking forward to a camping trip in Iceland and a five-week trek across Spain. We do have the capacity to change after all.

When I am home, I am a teacher and run a small business. Most of my writing is about politics, but I hope to expand my writing to the experience of travel over the next few years.
