I never really got over a somewhat cold reaction to Stockholm on my brief trip there, perhaps because the city only briefly offered any weather other than a combination of overcast skies and a somewhat oppressive heat the Swedes and their buildings just weren’t prepared for. In general, if you’re in a hotel lobby late at night because you can’t sleep in your hot room and you see 3-4 people in various stages of undress at the desk asking for fans, the AC might just not be working.
That coldness aside, Stockholm is a wonderfully walkable city and the iconic view of the Gamla Stan, friendly little coffee shops, and remarkable public transportation make it worth a stop. Some highlights of the trip were certainly the incredible Vasa Museum, the Ocean Bus tour, and the Fotografiska Museum.
